No Racism

Much of what I am about to say has been or will be said on conservative radio today. Outside of that, you likely will not hear any of it on social media, the mainstream news, or in liberal blogs.  This is primarily due to the fact that liberals, as a group, are incapable of thought and fact based argument.  You may consider that a broad based accusation.  I consider it simply, the truth.

So let’s start with the notion of racism. If liberals were capable of thought they would understand the fact that selecting people originating from specific countries is not racism.  If it is anything it would be nationalism.  The thing the affected people have in common is their nation of origin, not their race.

Next, let us consider that no one has been “banned”. A moratorium has been placed on immigration from 7 nations, which were identified by the Obama administration and voted on by Congress to be placed on a list of “Countries of Concern”.  These are all nations known to harbor terrorists and/or sponsor terrorism.  The decision to implement a system whereby immigrants and visitors from these nations are more closely scrutinized is a sound one from a security perspective.

“It’s a Muslim ban!” No snowflake…it’s not.  If it were a Muslim ban there are 40 more predominantly Muslim nations which would also be on the list.  They are not.

“It’s Unconstitutional!” This one makes me laugh.  Not because I think violations of the Constitution are funny, but because I think hearing it from people who sat silent while Obama violated the constitution is funny.  For instance, people are up in arms about Trump’s proposal to deport around 2-3 million criminal illegals.  Meanwhile Obama actually did deport 2.4 million illegals, and no one said a word.  Explain that…

What’s truly sad is to hear members of Congress say that what Trump is doing is illegal and unconstitutional. The President has the authority to set immigration policy.  Just like Obama could decide to jack up the number of refugees coming in, Trump can decide to lower it.  It’s pretty simple and clear cut.  You don’t need an advanced degree to get it.

Lastly, no one has a right to enter this country. Not even you, snowflake U.S. citizen.  Once you leave you are subject to being allowed to return.  You can be pulled aside, questioned, have your bags inspected, etc.  And you may not be sent on your way until Customs and Immigration are content with your presence.  So the notion that a non-citizen has some sort of “right” to come here is comical.

It’s sad that liberals would rather put the safety and security of their fellow citizens in jeopardy than appear mean to immigrants. But, as Europe is finding out, when you cast open the door and allow middle-eastern immigrants/refugees from war torn, terror prone, nations to enter…you get the war and the terror along with them.  This is not a knock against the people per se.  it is simply an acknowledgement of reality.  Portions of the UK, France, Germany, and others, are learning this lesson as we speak.  As rapes, other crimes, and terrorist acts, increase across Europe.  As people with one way of thinking, which has no regard for women or basic human rights, move into and occupy land historically occupied by people with a diametrically opposed set of values.

It’s very simple when you boil it down.

Many people from these nations believe it is okay, in fact ordained by God, to treat women as cattle. They believe homosexuality is a crime.  They believe that Allah is God, Mohammed his prophet, and Sharia his law.  They do not accept, and will not accept, western culture and values.  Period.  Not all of them, but many of them.  We need to know which is which.

You may agree or disagree with various policies put forward by the Trump administration. But there is no argument that we need to properly vet ANYONE coming into this country.  Especially those coming from areas known to be terrorist enclaves.

This is just plain old common sense.

Which is why liberals don’t get it.

Orlando, Islam, and Gun Control

Where to begin…

For the record, I am not a member of the gay community.  I won’t even offer the platitude that “some of my best friends are gay”.  None of my best friends are gay.  In truth, that has nothing to do with anything pertaining to this discussion.  The sexual orientation of the Orlando victims is only of importance to two groups.  The practitioners of “the religion of peace”, who believe homosexuality is a crime worthy of capital punishment, and the gay community.  To all the rest of us it’s much simpler.  A religious nut killed innocent people.  Period.

First off I’d like to address this national delusion we appear to be suffering from.  The position this gunman held is not “radical” Islam.  In places like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Saudi Arabia, the death penalty for the “sin” of homosexuality is *the law*.  It’s the position of THE STATE.  Hardly indicative of a small, extreme, fringe group.  So the fact of the matter is that while the *apostate* Islamist community doesn’t have any particular desire to kill people, the faithful practitioners of Islam believe it is their duty.  I suggest you take a look at the following link for a more clear understanding.

We have sat on our couches, eating our microwave pizzas and watching the news for years, and seen stories of gay men being thrown from rooftops in the middle east.  We shake our heads and ask ourselves, “What’s wrong with people?”  Somehow, we have never given thought to the fact that as we continue to import people who share this belief system, we will import the violence and hate intrinsically linked to it.  So we are importing Islamists from the middle east, and we are importing the violence and mayhem endemic to the middle east.  It’s seems pretty intuitive, yet a large segment of our society does not get it.

With regard to the gun control issue, I do not understand how plainly spoken, clear, English can be so utterly misunderstood.  I know before I speak I will not be heard.  Nevertheless, I will speak anyway.

I am a gun owner.  I am an AR-15 owner.  I do not support the issuance of weapons to felons.  I do not support the ability of anyone to purchase a firearm without a background check.  I do not support loopholes, or any other manner of circumventing the verification that a person who wishes to purchase a gun legally has the legal right to do so.  All that said…

A person who wishes to commit murder is not going to be stopped by a law banning the type of weapon he or she wishes to use.  If banning a product made it hard or impossible to obtain the war on drugs would have been a smashing success.  Clearly it has not been.

People have said that rifles like mine are weapons of war and have no place on the streets of America.  Yet those same people support local and state police departments having those weapons.  Why is that?  Are we empowering and/or inviting the police to bring “war” to the streets of our cities?  Do they need those weapons to confront the criminal element?  If so, does it not follow that the citizenry who must confront the criminal element prior to the arrival of the police also needs those weapons?

Of greater importance, and worthy of long and deep consideration, is the lesson that history has taught us.  We have shining examples all around us of what happens when the government is armed and the citizens are not.  Soviet Russia, Nazi Germany, Communist Cuba, Venezuela, Mexico…the list goes on.

So when you say “no one needs an assault rifle”, I reply that so long as the people who make the laws and enforce them are armed with these weapons, I will be too.  Because a people unable, or unwilling, to protect their own liberty from those who wish to take it, will not long have it.  This is not my opinion, it’s a historical fact.

So rather than attempt to ban a weapon that has sat in my closet for 5 years and harmed no one, let us work to remove the actual threat.  That being, the people behind the weapons who wish harm upon innocents.  Especially those who do harm to others because they believe God wills it.

If you banned every gun in existence you still would not solve the problem.  Criminals would still have guns.  Law-abiding citizens would be utterly defenseless.  Terrorists would use car bombs, IED’s, chemical and biological weapons, airplanes….  What must be done to solve this problem (this specific problem) is that every living soul who believes it is acceptable to kill another human being based on the words written in a book (any book), must be removed from the realm of the living.

I am not advocating hate toward Islam or people of the Muslim faith.  I am advocating understanding the mindset of people coming from strict Muslim societies, backgrounds, or upbringings.  I am advocating the incarceration, deportation, or even execution of people who preach hate and spread it to congregants.  And I am stating plainly that if you think you can import tens of thousands of people from a region where killing people over their views on God is just normal day-to-day business, without importing the violence…you’re crazy.

If you think this shooter in Orlando was a lone nut, acting out of some sort of mental disorder…you need to wake up.  What he did was encouraged, condoned, and advocated for prior to the act.

Watch this video…and become aware of who you are dealing with.

Imam says to kill gays out of compassion

Egypt…and the Truth

In a recent email discussion about Obama the Beneficent and our involvement in Egypt, a relatively well educated and intelligent man I know said this:

Obama continued the aid routinely given to the government of Egypt as the revolution rolled through that country in 2011, as had been given to Egypt since 1979.  The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), a SECULAR organization, took control and promised to hold parliamentary and presidential elections within months, which they did.  These were the first open elections in Egypt, perhaps ever.  You are in favor of democratic elections, are you not?  Many supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood were democratically elected in this manner.  SCAF, however, retained control and tried to push back against their power in parliament and in the end refused to give up their control of the Egyptian government to these newcomers, including the new president, Mursi.  -At which point there was another uprising in the streets earlier this year, at which point Obama WITHHELD much of our aid to Egypt, allowing some non-military, humanitarian aid through.

It is useful to set the record straight here because the truth is close to this, but not close enough.  The devil is, as they say, in the details.  As this friend of mine is a flaming liberal, it is interesting to note the things he glossed over and/or left out.

There was an uprising in Egypt, yes.  They did hold Democratic elections, and yes I am for Democratic elections.  But when they elected Muhammad Morsi, and he began to install himself as the supreme ruler, institute Sharia law, ignore the constitution, and support terrorists…it might have been a good idea for us not to send him 1.5 billion dollars, tanks, aircraft, etc.  Which he most certainly would have eventually used against Israel.  Eventually, the people having had enough, twenty million or so went in to the street to demand that Morsi step down, which he refused to do.  At that point the military, hesitantly, took the side of the people, ousted Morsi and is arranging for NEW democratic elections.  That is what happened.

But, the apostles of the prophet Obama are so deeply invested in his mythology, that they must ignore reality, common sense, and common decency in order to excuse his failures and flaws.

Notice how the notion that we have been giving money to Egypt since 1979 is thrown in.  The fact that radical muslim terrorists now run the country doesn’t seem to be an important policy making factor.  Basically, “Our shit’s on direct deposit, let’s just leave it.”
At the end he makes the point that NOW we are withholding aid, apparently because Obama’s chosen people are no longer in control.  So basically the deal is, if terrorists run a country the U.S. will happily give them aid, weapons, aircraft, etc.  If the people suffering under the jihadists rise up and overthrow them, the U.S. will cut off aid because we are not fond of popular uprisings or military coups….  Which of course totally ignores the fact that Morsi came to office as the result of a popular uprising and military intervention which ousted the long standing leader of Egypt, Hasni Mubarak.

It is a sad fact that when faced with the truth or the liberal spin, a liberal will choose the spin every single time.  But this makes sense in a way.  Because everything liberals touch fall apart.  They destroy lives, businesses, the healthcare system, retirement, etc.  And they cannot sleep at night understanding what it is they have actually done, so they concentrate instead on what they meant to do.

This is how a liberal can stand before the press and say with a straight face that there is no evidence to suggest that Obamacare is costing jobs or shifting our economy to a part-time economy, while the CBO, GAO, BBB, CoC, and numerous other studies, institutes, publications and agencies all say that is precisely what is happening.

This is how you can take 3.5 years, and spend 634 million dollars to do something that should have cost 1 million or less and been done in 3 months, fail at it, and not have enough honor to kill yourself for the benefit of the nation.  Any decent Samurai would have already fallen on their sword.  And not only will democrats refuse to commit mass suicide like any decent group of human beings would…no one will even get fired, fined or reprimanded for this epic failure.

Because in liberal land you don’t actually have to produce results, you just have to want to produce results really badly.  You have to mean to produce results.  You have to claim to have produced results.  But you do not have to demonstrate that you have produced results.  Your base, after all, does not care.  They just want their food stamps and Obama phones.  They already have free medical care, free food, nearly free housing, free phones, etc.  So they don’t care how much money you waste or how long you take to completely fail at everything.

But they will…  when the IRS starts fining people for not having health insurance, even though they were unable to use the broken ass website to sign up for it.  When the cost of  insurance prices people out of the market.  When the system collapses under its own weight and the incompetence of the people who run it.  Then they will care.  And then single-payer will be proposed as an alternative…and God help us if that passes.

In short, whether it is foreign policy, domestic policy, national defense or basic math…if a Democrat is speaking he’s lying (if he’s a leader) or misled (if he’s a minion).  So…if you do not know what is going on and do not have time to study for yourself…find a well read liberal, ask him/her what’s happening, reverse everything they say, and you’ll know what’s going on.

September 11th

I was at work yesterday.  I work in a place with definite ties to the events of 9/11/2001, though those ties would not necessarily be apparent to the casual observer.

Early yesterday morning a voice came over the loud speakers (I didn’t know we had loudspeakers), reminding us to take a moment to remember the events of that day and the people we lost.

I don’t need a reminder…

I was sitting in my Pastor’s office that morning, with my now ex-wife.  We were there for marriage counseling (it didn’t work).

The Pastor’s wife came running in the room to tell us that a plane had hit the world trade center.  I immediately thought of one of those light, experimental type planes.  I figured some guy had messed up bad, hit the building, and died.  But I asked.  “What kind of plane?”  ” A passenger jet”, she replied.

Hmmm… that’s odd.  Those planes have lots of instruments, and the pilots get lots of training…

Oh well, on with the counseling.

She comes rushing back in… “ANOTHER plane hit the OTHER tower!”  The pastor and I look at each other…  We’re at war.  With someone…

I went home and turned on the television.  I watched as people died, buildings fell, politicians spoke, news anchors and pundits pontificated.  It all seemed surreal.  I did what a lot of people did.  I put myself in that situation just for a moment, and wondered what I’d do.  Would I be one of the jumpers?  One of the guys on the phone demanding that help arrive faster?  One of the heroes, trying to lead others to safety?  Would I have made it out?

I contacted a guy I have never agreed with on a single issue in the 15 years I’ve known him.  I said to him, “I hope, on this day, that you and I can agree that someone, somewhere, has a major ass whoopin coming their way.”  His response was, “Abso-fuckin-lutely”.  For a short time we were all Americans.  Black and white, rich and poor, democrat and republican.  We were united, we were defiant.  We were horrified and angry.  We were proud.  Our first responders demonstrated for all the world to see what bravery and courage meant.

Our heads were bloodied but unbowed.

It seems to me however, that now…12 years later (has it been that long?) we have turned it in to some kind of theater.  VIP’s gather with solemn faces to deliver solemn speeches to a partisan, divided nation.

Bells toll.  Names are read.  Flags are flown.  But, much of the point is missed.

There were not 3,000 victims on that day.  The entire United States was attacked!  Certain families lost loved ones, but the entire nation suffered.  The anger, the heartache, the rage, were not confined to New York City, the Pentagon and some field in Pennsylvania.  From sea to shining sea, all of us watched the event of that day in horror.  All of us felt the loss.  All of us turned a corner.

I think a few of us, caught up in the moment as we were, had the insight to realize in the midst of the activities of that day and the ones that followed. that our way of life as we had known it up to that point, had ended.  America was forever changed.

With only token resistance, a horrified nation sacrificed liberty for security, and got neither.

It is not fair I think to say that tyranny in America began on September 11th, 2001.  The seeds had already been planted.  The Constitution already assaulted.  The subjugation of the people to the will of the government was already well established and taking place.  But I think, when we look back years from now, we will be able to say that 9/11/01 was the day things shifted gears.

We got the Patriot Act and the Dept. of Homeland Security.  We got the Gestapo at the airports, frisking, searching, scanning…robbing, assaulting, and molesting us.

We got the NSA wiretapping, intercepting, decrypting, analyzing ,compiling and storing our personal data.

We got new agencies, new officers, new rules and regulations.  We became the land of the mostly free, to some extent, where feasible.  And though some of us protested, as a nation we just bowed our heads and accepted it.

Bin Laden said that through our own laws he would defeat us.  He said he would use our own system to bring us down.

As I look around me I cannot help but think he was right.  In striving to protect “America”, we abandoned what it means to be an American.  And so we have preserved life, at the expense of a way of life.

There will always be two Americas.  The one before 9-11, and the one after.

That is what I think about on this anniversary.
